Regina’s Naeve and Wagner, West Branch’s Falco Named to RVC South Division Volleyball First Team

River Valley Conference rivals West Branch and Regina played one of the matches of the year in Class 2A on Wednesday, a five-set regional thriller won by the Bears in Iowa City.
On Thursday both teams had players recognized for their excellence on the court throughout the regular season.
Regina and West Branch each put players on the River Valley Conference South Division team when the league announced its postseason honors on Thursday.
Regina’s Reese Naeve and Sydney Wagner and West Branch junior Madelynn Falco were named to the RVC South Division first team.
Naeve earned first-team honors for the second consecutive season following a sophomore season in which she led the state with 600 kills.
The 5-foot-7 Naeve hit .341 as a sophomore while posting her 600 kills and led the Regals with 409 digs and 46 ace serves while adding 24 blocks.
Wagner earned first-team all-division honors for the first time after being name a second-team pick last season.\
The senior setter had a state-best 1,090 assists this season to go with 57 kills, 297 digs and 31 ace serves.
Falco earned first-team RVC honors for the first time after being named to the South Division second team last season.
The 5-foot-4 Falco led West Branch with 310 digs from her libero spot and added 15 ace serves.
Regina sophomore Kiley Devery was named to the South Division second team.
Devery ranked second on the team behind Naeve with a career-high 337 kills on .268 hitting and led the Regals with 30 blocks.
West Branch senior Kylie Pickett and Regina freshman Addison Bollier each earned honorable mention honors.
Mid-Prairie junior Dakota Mitchell was named South Division most valuable player while Monticello junior Jordan Kuper was named most valuable player in the North Division.
