Boys Cross Country Roundup: Hilsman Helps Clear Creek Amana Return to Class 3A State Meet

After returning to the state meet after a two-year absence last season Clear Creek Amana has started another string of consecutive state meet appearances.
The Clippers secured a second consecutive trip to state on Wednesday with a third-place finish at the Class 3A state qualifying meet held at Pella Sports Park in Pella.
Second-ranked Pella won the team title with 21 points and seventh-ranked Washington was runner-up with 77 points while Clear Creek Amana secured the final spot at state with a third-place finish with 86 points.
Newton was fourth with 118 points and Fort Madison was fifth with 122.
Brock Hilsman led Clear Creek Amana placing seventh in a time of 16:41.7 while Thomas Stiltner finished 17th in a time of 17:02.44 for the Clippers.
Isaac Sorensen was 19th in 17:05.86, Logan Kafer placed 21st in a time of 17:13.16 and Jamie Hayes was 22nd in 17:18.19,
Canaan Dunham of Pella won the individual title in 15:31.77.
