Solon Stretches Win Streak to Seven With Road Win at Fairfield

Solon pushed its winning streak to seven and remained unbeaten in Class 3A, District 5 play with a 42-6 win over Fairfield on Friday in Fairfield.
Solon improved to 7-1 on the season and 4-0 in district play while Fairfield dropped to 3-5 and 1-3 in district games.
Conlan Poynton ran for 102 yards and two touchdowns as Solon rolled up 289 rushing yards in the win.
Eddie Johnson rushed for 62 yards and Milo Ashbacker added 59 yards and a touchdown on the ground for the Spartans.
Solon jumped to a 35-0 lead as Poynton scored both of his touchdowns in the first half and junior quarterback Ty Bell added a 2-yard touchdown run.
Jack McCarty returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown and Austin Knight returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown for the Spartans.
Brayden Miller had 3.5 tackles including a sack for the Spartans while Oliver Owens and Ashbacker each had a tackle for loss.
Brett White led Solon with 6.5 tackles and Will Cusick recovered a fumble for the Spartans.
