Regina and West Branch to Host Class 1A Opening-Round Playoff Games

Regina locked up a district title with a 35-0 win over previously unbeaten Wilton on Friday.
On Saturday morning the Regals learned their opening-round playoff opponent.
Sixth-ranked Regina (7-1) will host Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (3-5) on Friday in the opening round of the Class 1A playoffs.

West Branch (5-3) will host Pleasantville (5-3) in the opening round at the Little Rose Bowl on Friday at 7 p.m.

The District 5 champion, Regina hosts an Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont team that finished fourth in District 6.
The Rockets lost back-to-back games to playoff qualifiers Pleasantville and Sigourney-Keota to close the regular season by a combined total of 87-12.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont fell to Sigourney-Keota 52-12 in the regular season finale on Friday.
Pleasantville brings a three-game winning streak into the playoffs, rattling off three consecutive shutouts to close the regular season.
The Trojans lost three straight games to Lynnville-Sully, Pella Christian and Sigourney-Keota before outscoring Colfax-Mingo, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Cardinal by a combined score of 133-0 to close the regular season.
