The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts.
Cam Miller
Solon graduate and current North Dakota State senior quarterback Cam Miller accounted for nearly 300 yards of total offense and three touchdowns in a 38-10 win over Missouri State on Saturday in Springfield, Missouri.
Miller completed 16-of-20 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown as the Bison improved to 4-1 on the season.
On the season Miller has completed 84-of-107 passes (79%) for 941 yards and seven touchdowns with one interception and has rushed for 256 yards and six touchdowns.
Cael O’Neill
Solon graduate and current Wartburg senior place kicker Cael O’Neill had a big day in a 54-0 win over Luther on Saturday in Decorah.
O’Neill made all seven of his PAT attempts and added a 22-yard field goal as the Knights improved to 6-0 on the season.
On the year O’Neill has converted 24-of-26 PAT attempts and made two field goals.
Jack Kinzer
Liberty High graduate and current Wartburg junior cross country runner Jack Kinzer posted a top-five finish at the Dan Huston Invitational in Waverly on September 30 to help the host Knights win the team title at their own 21-team meet.
Kinzer finished fourth at the meet navigating the 8k course in a time of 25:12.6 as Wartburg won the team championship with 29 points.
Wartburg is currently ranked seventh in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III rankings.
Tate Crane
Former West High standout and current Truman State junior wide receiver Tate Crane had a big game in a 33-27 overtime victory over Quincy on Saturday as the Bulldogs remained unbeaten on the season.
Crane caught five passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in the win as Truman State improved to 6-0 on the season.
On the year Crane leads the team with 29 receptions for 379 yards and three touchdowns.
