Boys Cross Country Roundup: Liberty High Puts Four in Top-15 in Third-place Finish at MVC Super Meet

Liberty High is still relatively new to the Mississippi Valley Conference but the Bolts continue to make a name for themselves in one of the premier cross country conferences in the state.
The Lightning continued their MVC ascent on Thursday putting four players in the top 15 in a third-place team finish at a loaded Mississippi Valley Conference Super Meet at Birdsall Park in Cedar Falls.
Aidan Decker, Keegan Decker, Jacob Madsen and Noah Gregoire all posted top-15 finishes as Class 4A No. 10 Liberty High finished third behind a pair of top-five ranked teams.
Fourth-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy won the team title with 40 points, 22 points in front of top-ranked Cedar Falls to headline a field that featured eight ranked 4A teams.
Liberty High was third with 96 followed by No. 12 Dubuque Hempstead with 120 points, No. 20 Cedar Rapids Prairie with 134 points and No. 13 City High with 149 points.
No. 15 Dubuque Senior was seventh with 153 points, No. 19 West High was eighth with 189 and No. 18 Linn-Mar was ninth with 197.
Aidan Decker led Liberty High with an eighth-place overall finish in a time of 16:24.6 while Keegan Decker was right behind in ninth place in a time of 16:30.7.
Jacob Madsen placed 11th in 16:44.4 and Noah Gregoire finished 14th in 16:48.4.
West High was led by junior Moustafa Tiea who finished fourth overall in a time of 16:10.6.
Adam Gray of Cedar Rapids Kennedy won the individual title in 16:04.4 while John Maloney of Dubuque Hempstead was second in 16:05.4 and Jacob Bruns of Cedar Rapids Kennedy was third in a time of 16:08.7.
City High was led by senior Owyn Noble who finished 16th in a time of 16:49 and Linus McRoberts who was 21st in 16:58.5.
