One of the best infielders in the state has made a decision regarding her softball future.
Liberty High senior shortstop Haley Schroeder announced her commitment to Drake on Wednesday with a post on social media.
“I am so excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and softball career at Drake University,” Schroeder wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “I can’t thank coach Diehl and Coach Marshall enough for this opportunity. I would not have been able to do this without the support of my family, friends and amazing coaches and teammates over the years. I am so thankful and blessed to be a Bulldog and can’t wait to see what the next four years brings.”
Already a three-year starter for Liberty High, Schroeder had the best season of her career last fall.
