With the postseason right around the corner defending 5A state champion Liberty High is back in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union volleyball rankings.

Liberty High (13-17) returned to the 5A rankings after a week out, coming in at No. 10 in the most recent rankings released by the IGHSAU on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lightning have won six of their last eight matches including win over eighth-ranked Ankeny and a five-set victory over City High.

City High (15-8) dropped dropped one spot to No. 12 in the most recent 5A rankings.

One of only two remaining unbeaten teams in the state, Clear Creek Amana held its spot atop the Class 4A rankings as it has all season.

Clear Creek Amana (35-0) joins 2A top-ranked Dike-New Hartford (31-0)  as the lone undefeated teams while holding on to the top spot in the 4A rankings for the seventh week in a row.

Solon (16-11) held its spot at  No. 11 in the Class 3A rankings while Regina (19-8) held its spot at No. 13 in the Class 2A rankings.

Other top-ranked teams in the this week are West Des Moines Dowling in 5A, Western Christian in 3A, Dike-New Hartford in 2A and Ankeny Christian in 1A.
