Mackenzie Murphy
City High graduate and current Mount Mercy senior Mackenzie Murphy is off to a strong start leading the Mustangs to a 13-5 record including a 6-2 mark in Heart of America Conference play.
Murphy had a team-leading 12 kills and 12 digs in a sweep of Grandview last Tuesday and added 11 kills and seven digs in a four-set win at Clarke on Saturday.
On the season the 5-foot-11 Murphy leads Mount Mercy with 223 kills and ranks second on the team with 218 digs.
Adam Bock
Solon graduate and South Dakota State senior all-American linebacker Adam Bock had a team-high 10 tackles in his season debut on Saturday in a win over North Dakota.
The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Bock had five solo tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack among his team-high 10 stops as the Jackrabbits improved to 4-0 on the season with a 42-21 win over North Dakota.
Gabbie Schroeder
Liberty High graduate and current Drake sophomore defensive specialist Gabbie Schroeder had 10 digs in a four-set win over Valparaiso on Saturday.
Schroeder had a season-high 11 digs at Iowa State last month and has collected 41 digs while playing 40 sets across 14 matches this season helping the Bulldogs to a 10-6 record.
