Class 3A fifth-ranked Clear Creek Amana continued its strong start to the season on Thursday with a team title at the Independence Invitational.

Clear Creek Amana put four runners in the top 10 and finished with 37 points to finish 18 points in front of No. 18 Wavery-Shell Rock which finished runner-up with 55 points.

Class 2A No. 11 Union was third with 71 followed by Iowa Falls with 89 and New Hampton with 150.

Kira Barker finished fourth in a time of 20:25.2 to highlight four Clippers runners that finished in the top eight.

Kiera Rogers was fifth in a time of 20:44.1 while Sara Kinzenbaw was sixth in 20:45.3 and Kadence Whitmer was eighth in 21:00.

Harper Tecklenburg finished 16^th in a time of 21:24.7 and Sienna Stiltner was 23^rd in a time of 21:50.1.
