Boys Cross Country Roundup: Decker Helps Liberty High to Top-three Finish at Rich Engel Classic

Liberty High had three runners finish in the top 15 on its way to a third-place team finish at the Rich Engel Classic on Thursday at Birdsall Park in Cedar Falls.
Freshman Keegan Decker finished seventh overall and teammates Noah Greogire and Aidan Decker each added top-12 finishes as Class 4A No. 14 Liberty High finished third with 101 points.
4A top-ranked Cedar Falls won the team title with 64 points followed by No. 10 Cedar Rapids Kennedy with 69 points.
West High finished eighth with 222 points.
Keegan Decker was seventh in a time of 16:33.4 while Gregoire finished 11th in 16:48.7.
Aidan Decker was right behind Gregoire placing 12th in a time of 16:49.8 and Jacob Madsen was 19th for the Lightning in a time of 16:59.
West High was led by senior Cade Benson who placed 26th in a time of 17:18.3 and Michael Lee who finished 44th in 17:53.3.
