Girls Cross Country Roundup: Solon Wins Team Title at Season-opening Anamosa Invite

Class 3A eighth-ranked Solon opened the season by winning the team title at the Anamosa Invitational on Saturday at Anamosa Middle School.
Solon had four runners finish in the top 14 and finished 27 points in front of 3A fourth-ranked Washington which was runner-up with 82 points.
Class 2A No. 16 Jesup was third with 98 points followed by Cedar Rapids Kennedy with 104 and Union with 112.
Senior Anna Quillin led Solon finish sixth in a time of 21:27 while freshman Ava Rolwes was eighth in 21:37.
Junior Sydney Dee finished 11th in 22:05, freshman Falyn Svalstad was 15th in 22:34 and junior Rose McAtee finished 17th in a time of 22:38 for the Spartans.
