West High opened its season with a 127-59 win over Dubuque Senior in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet on Tuesday at the Coralville Recreation Center.

The Trojans won 11 of 12 events on Tuesday on their way to the dual meet win and had three swimmers earn a pair of individual titles each.

Senior Kolby Reese, junior Averie Bilskemper and freshman Hannah Geng all won two events with Reese and Geng each posting automatic state qualifying times in an event.

Reese won the 200 freestyle in 1:58.4 and posted an automatic state qualifying time of 5:16.1 in winning the 500 freestyle.

Geng added titles in the 50 freestyle in 25.13 and the 100 butterfly in a state-qualifying time of 58.79.

Bilskemper won the 100 freestyle in a time of 54.74 and added a win in the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.03.

Karen Liu won the 200 IM in 2:21.46 and Kamila Swanson won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 237.

West High also won titles in the 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.
