Solon Junior White Headlines Area IHSBCA All-State Selections

The postseason awards continue to roll in for Brett White and the latest accolade for the Solon junior standout is a big one.
White was named to the All-State Super Team on Thursday when the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association released its postseason awards.
Senior Blake Timmons and junior Gehrig Turner were each selected to the IHSBCA 3A all-state team as Solon had three players earn all-state honors to account for half of the Your Prep Sports area selections.
White was named to the all-state Super Team as a third baseman after ranking in the top five in Class 3A in nine offensive categories.
A Baylor recruit, White batted .460 with 38 RBI and ranked in the top five in 3A in home runs (7), stolen bases (37), runs (61), hits (58), doubles (17), total bases (98), on-base percentage (.609), slugging percentage (.778) and walks (36).
Timmons was a first-team utility selection in 3A after batting .421 while leading 3A with 62 runs scored.
A North Dakota State recruit, Timmons had 38 stolen bases, 10 extra-base hits, 21 RBI and 27 walks to go with a .535 on-base percentage.
Turner was a second team all-state pick as a catcher after batting .278 with 12 doubles and 36 RBI.
Clear Creek Amana sophomore second baseball Maclane Morgan was named to the 3A all-state third team.
Morgan batted .404 with 13 extra-base hits, 23 runs, 20 RBI and a .525 on-base percentage.
City High sophomore Talon Young was a second-team all-state selection in 4A as a pitcher.
Young ranked in the top 10 in 4A in wins, ERA, WHIP and innings pitched while helping City High return to the state tournament for the second consecutive season.
The right-hander went 8-1 with a .89 ERA, .91 WHIP while striking out 50 in 62 2/3 innings.
Regina senior Danny Gavin was named to the Class 1A first-team as an outfield and was one of four players statewide to earn the Gary and Sandy Nyhus Leadership Awards.
Gavin batted .411 with 20 extra-base hits, 15 doubles, four home runs and 32 RBI while drawing 21 walks and posting a .522 on-base percentage and .682 slugging percentage.
