Solon Junior White Named WAMAC East Division Player of the Year For Second Consecutive Season

Solon junior standout Brett White added yet another achievement to a growing list of career accolades.
White was named the WAMAC East Division player of the year for the second consecutive season on Thursday when the conference released its postseason awards.
The Baylor commit was a unanimous first-team all-WAMAC East Division selection as an infielder and headlined a list of seven Solon players to earn all-division honors.
Already a four-year starter for the Spartans, White batted a team-high .460 this season with 25 extra-base hits including a team-leading seven home runs.
White led the Spartans in hits (58), doubles (17), home runs, walks (36), on-base percentage (.609) and slugging percentage (.778) and ranked second on the team with 61 runs scored and 38 RBI.
Senior outfielder Blake Timmons joined White as a unanimous first-team all-East Division pick.
Timmons hit .421 and led the Spartans with 62 runs scored and 38 stolen bases while driving in 21 runs.
Juniors Brick Kabela and Gehrig Turner and sophomore Jackson Link were all second-team picks in the East Division.
Kabela was a second-team selection as a pitcher after posting a 5-1 record and a 2.49 ERA while striking out 30 in 39 1/3 innings.
Turner earned second-team honors as a catcher after hitting .278 with 12 doubles and 36 RBI.
Link was a second-team utility selection after hitting .286 with 23 RBI while also going 2-1 with a 2.18 ERA in 35 1/3 innings pitched.
Sophomore Nolan Seagren and junior Vince Steinbrech were both honorable mention picks for the Spartans.
Clear Creek Amana also had seven players earn all-divisional honors led by a trio of unanimous first-team picks in the West Division.
Seniors Jack Downes and Josh Loren and sophomore Kaden Phan were all unanimous WAMAC West Division first team picks.
Downes was a first-team pick as a catcher after batting .393 with a team-high four home runs and 28 RBI while also leading the Clippers with a .579 on-base percentage.
Loren earned first team honors as a pitcher after the senior left-hander posted a 5-4 record and 1.54 ERA while striking out 62 in a team-high 45 1/3 innings.
Phan was named to the West Division first team as an outfield following a breakthrough season in which he batted .367 with 13 extra-base hits and a team-high 36 RBI.
Seniors David Williams and Reece Hoffman were both second-team picks in the West Division.
Hoffman was a second-team selection as an infielder after leading Clear Creek Amana with a .405 batting average and 30 runs scored while driving in 15 runs.
Williams was a second-team utility selection following a season in which he batted .309, scored 24 runs and drove in 12 runs and went 2-1 with a 2.66 ERA in 23 2/3 innings.
Sophomore Maclane Morgan and senior Caleb Allan were both honorable mention picks in the West Division for Clear Creek Amana.
