Liberty High had seven players earn all-division honors highlighted by four first-team selections when the Mississippi Valley Conference released its postseason softball honors on Wednesday.

The Lightning put four players on the Mississippi Division first team including a pair of unanimous first-team picks in junior infield Haley Schroeder and freshman outfield Kelsey Kaut.

Junior catcher Mischa Reiners and senior first baseman Haileigh Smith were also named to the Mississippi Division first team.

Schroeder was a unanimous first-team pick after hitting .407 with a team-high six home runs while leading the Lightning with 15 doubles, 25 walks, 26 stolen bases and 55 runs scored.

Kaut was a unanimous selection as an outfield after a breakthrough freshman season in which she led the Lightning with a .432 batting average, scored 37 runs, drove in 11 runs and stole 19 bases.

A first-team pick as a utility player Smith batted .425 and had a team-leading 15 doubles while ranking second on the team with 37 RBI. Smith also posted a 5-3 record and 4.28 ERA in 52 1/3 innings pitched.

Reiners earned first-team honors as a catcher after batting .314 with 11 extra-base hits and a team-high 40 RBI.

Junior infielder Brynlee Slockett was named to the Mississippi Division second team after batting .396 with four home runs, 13 doubles, 39 runs scored and 31 RBI.

Seniors Ella Wetjen and Kennedy Daugherty each earned honorable mention honors for the Lightning.

City High had five players earn all-division honors in the Valley Division while West High had three players named to Valley Division teams.

City High sophomore infielder Lianna Hull was named to the Valley Division first team while freshman catcher Molly Carlson and junior outfield Mackenzie Dvorsky were each second-team picks.

Hull earned first team honors following a sophomore season in which she hit a team-high .459 and led City High with 33 runs scored, 17 stolen bases, three triples and a .527 on-base percentage.

Carlson was a second-team pick after batting .378 with four home runs and a team-high 27 RBI while also leading the Little Hawks with 14 walks.

Dvorsky hit .292 and led City High with five home runs and was second on the team with 26 RBI on her way to earning second-team all-divisional honors.

Senior Lexi Ellermeier and eighth grader Maeve Obermueller each earned honorable mention honors for City High.

West High junior infielder Kendra Mescher was a first-team all-Valley Division pick after leading the Trojans with a .289 batting average, eight runs and five doubles.

Freshman Chloe Rogers and sophomore Emma Fish were both honorable mention selections for West High.
