Regina Puts Three Players on RVC South Division First Team

Midway through what Regina plans on being a four-game postseason run the Regals picked up some rewards for their work in the regular season.
Regina had five players earn all-conference honors when the River Valley Conference released its postseason honors on Wednesday.
The all-conference recipients for the Regals were highlighted by a trio of first-team picks with seniors Jack Tierney and Danny Gavin joining sophomore Connor Nicpon on the South Division first team.
Tierney was named to the South Division first team as an infielder after hitting .391 with 10 extra-base hits and driving in 20 runs and scoring 27 runs.
Gavin was a first-team all-South Division selection as an outfielder after leading the Regals with a .413 batting average, a .523 on-base percentage and a .663 slugging percentage.
The senior centerfielder had 15 doubles, three home runs and led the team with 33 runs scored and 30 RBI.
Nicpon was a first-team utility selection after excelling on the mound as well as at the plate.
The sophomore batted .245 with 14 RBI and 27 runs scored and went 4-3 with a 2.54 ERA and 45 strikeouts in a team-leading 41 1/3 innings.
Junior Jack Clark was named to the South Division second team as a catcher after batting .303 with 12 extra-base hits and 22 RBI. Clark also had a team-high 27 walks and scored 17 runs.
Eighth grader Will Litton was an honorable mention South Division pick for Regina.
West Branch had a pair of players named to the South Division teams in junior Max Lodge and sophomore Ian Nelson.
Lodge was a second-team pick as an infielder after hitting a team-high .356 with a home run, 16 RBI and 13 runs scored.
Nelson was an honorable mention selection for the Bears.
