Class 4A fourth-ranked City High stretched its winning streak to 11 with a non-conference doubleheader sweep of Mason City on Monday in Mason City.
City High won both games 10-0 while improving to 28-12 on the season while Mason City dropped to 22-16 with the losses.
DJ Hodges had two hits and drove in three runs in the opener while Carsen Newton walked five times and scored three runs as City High drew 17 walks as a team.
Drew Carlson had a hit and drove in a run and Jaxton Schroeder had a hit, drove in two runs and scored a run.
Kael Kurtz and Owen Hicks each had a hit and scored a run for the Little Hawks.
Three different City High pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout with Cooper Drake earning the win allowing two hits and three walks while striking out four in four innings.
Max Waldschmidt was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI to lead City High in game two while Schroeder homered and drove in two runs in the nightcap.
Ethan Nace and Dominic Salibi each had a hit, scored a run and drove in a run and Jake Mitchell had two hits and scored twice for City High.
Four City High pitchers combined to hold Mason City to three hits with Hicks earning the win striking out five in two hitless innings while Talon Young fanned three and allowed two hits in two innings.
