Baseball Roundup: Nicpon Helps Regina Split Doubleheader With West Liberty

Regina split a River Valley Conference South Division doubleheader with West Liberty on Monday in West Liberty dropping the opener 5-4 and winning the nightcap 9-1.
Regina moved to 13-16 on the season and 11-6 in RVC South Division play while West Liberty is now 12-10 and 11-6.
The Comets scored the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh in the opener as Tate Lynch took the loss for Regina allowing two runs on five hits in 3 1/3 solid innings of relief.
Colin Baker was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Regina while Danny Gavin had a hit and drove in two runs for the Regals in game one.
Will Litton had a hit and scored a run and Connor Nicpon added a hit for Regina.
Nicpon picked up the win in game two allowing just one run on four hits while striking out five in a complete game and he also went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored.
Drew Streb had two hits and drove in three runs, Alex Paul was 2-for-5 with a double and Hudson Koch had a hit and scored twice for Regina in the nightcap.
Litton had a hit and scored a run, Baker had a hit and Jack Clark had a hit and drove in three runs for the Regals.
Gavin had a hit, drove in a run and scored twice.
