Baseball Roundup: Solon Drops Doubleheader at West Delaware

West Delaware swept a doubleheader from Solon on Monday in a matchup of WAMAC East Division leaders at Beckman Sports Complex in Manchester.
The Hawks won the opener 10-5 and completed the sweep with a 5-4 win in 11 innings in the nightcap while improving to 21-9 on the season and 15-3 in WAMAC play.
Solon dropped to 19-17 and 13-5 in conference play and has lost four straight games.
Brett White was 3-for-4 with a double and scored two runs for Solon in the opener while Blake Timmons had a hit and scored a run.
Nolan Seagren had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run for Solon in game one.
Vince Steinbrech took the loss in the opener allowing nine runs on eight hits while striking out one and walking two in 3 2/3 innings.
White was 2-for-4 with a run scored in the nightcap while Jackson Link had a hit and drove in two runs.
Blake Timmons had a hit and scored a run in the nightcap.
Link threw eight strong innings allowing three runs, one earned, on four hits while striking out eight.
Tyson Wheeler took the loss in relief allowing a run on a hit while walking two in 2 1/3 innings.
