The stellar prep soccer career for Grace Gaarde ended last month with a loss in the regional title game.

On Wednesday Gaarde added another honor to her already impressive career resume.

Gaarde was named to the Class 1A all-state second team compiled by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association following a stellar senior season in which she ranked second in the state in goals.

A senior forward, Gaarde led Class 1A and ranked second in the state with 45 goals this season while leading Regina to 14-6 record and a spot in a Class 1A regional title game.

The 45 goals were a career high for Gaarde and gave her 103 goals for her career.

Gaarde also had a team-high six assists for Regina this season.

Liberty High sophomore Rilyn Breinholt earned second-team all-state honors in Class 2A.

Breinholt ranked second on the team with 10 goals and led Liberty High with 10 assists while helping the Lightning to a 9-9 record and a spot in the Class 2A regional title game.
