West Branch closed the season with a bang on Friday.

The Bears shot a 378 on the final day of the Class 1A state meet at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boon to finish third with a 36-hole score of 771.

Grundy Center won the 1A title with a 706 while New London was runner-up with a 729.

The 378 for West Branch on Friday was 15 strokes better than its opening-round score and helped the Bears move up a spot after sitting fourth after 18 holes.

West Branch finished 10 strokes in front of BCLUW which finished fourth with a 781 after shooting 392 on Friday.

Claire Jarrett shot a 91 on Friday to finish 10^th in 1A with a 36-hole score of 183.

Jarrett was two strokes in front of Addie Fier of Easton Valley who finished 11^th and two strokes back of ninth-place finisher Avery Dowling of Sidney.

Abbie Lindeman of Grundy Center shot a 79 on Friday to win the individual title on one stroke over Taylor Phillips of New London with a two-day total of 159.

Tess Hammar shot a 99 on Friday and finished in 27^th place with a 195 while Gabby Rushton shot a 96 on Friday and finished 29^th with a 196.

Teammate Alex Poppen shot a 92 on Friday, 13 strokes better than her opening-round score, on her way to a 32^nd place finish with a 197.
