Regina Senior Takacs Fourth After Day One at Class 1A State Golf Meet

Mikey Takacs will enter the final day of the Class 1A state golf tournament in striking distance of the leader.
Takacs shot an opening-round 77 on the first day of the two-day 1A state meet at Ames Golf and Country Club in Ames and is three stokes off the lead entering the final day of competition.
After shooting a one-over 37 on the back nine to open his round on Monday Takacs shot a five-over 40 on the front nine.
Takacs is three strokes behind leader Dawson Harthole of LeMars Gehlen who shot a three-over 74.
Chase Jahde of CAM is one stroke back after shooting a 75 and Collin Homan of Remsen St. Mary’s shot a 76.
Takacs had birdies on the par-four 11th and the par-five 15th and finished with 11 pars and five holes of bogey or worse.
