Jack McCarty shot a two-over-par 37 to earn medalist honors and lead Solon to the team title at the WAMAC East Division meet on a windy Monday at Kernoustie Golf Club in Mount Vernon.

McCarty led four Spartans that shot 41 or better on Monday as Solon shot a 157 to finish five strokes in front of runner-up Marion.

West Delaware and Independence each shot a 169 while host Mount Vernon was fifth with a 182.

McCarty finished two strokes in front of Nathan Whalen of Marion, teammate Sean Stahle and Colson Mersch of West Delaware who all shot 39 on Monday.

Quinton Heineman shot a 40 and Brennan Heesch shot a 41 for the Spartans.
