City High won 10 events and finished runner-up at the Hi-Covey Relays in Ames on Tuesday evening.

The Little Hawks got two individual titles from Ammon Smith and won three field events and two relay titles while finishing runner-up with 192 points.

Cedar Rapids Kennedy won the team title with 198.5 points while host Ames was third with 133.

City High won three of four field events as Ronnie Major won the long jump with a leap of 21-2 3/4, Jeremiah Madlock won the high jump clearing 6-2 and Michael Etuma won the discus with a toss of 149-9.

won titles in the 400 in 51.14 and the 3,200 in 9:59.83 and Truman Thompson added an individual title in 1:56.95.

City High swept the individual hurdle events as Austin Rindels won the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.31 and Matt Schaeckenbach won the 400 hurdles in 54.91.

The City High 4×200 relay team of Sam Rew, Akili Mattox, Madlock and Major won in 1:30.76 and the 4×400 team of Madlock, Connor Cross, Thompson and Noah Carey won in 3:30.51.

Mattox was runner-up in the long jump, Ayman Noreldaim was runner-up in the 400 and Braeden Marker was runner-up in the 3,200 for City High.

City High was also second in the shuttle hurdle and 4×100 relays.
