Juniors Arnaman and Benzing Earn All-State Honors from Iowa Print Sports Writers Association

The prep basketball careers of Holden Arnaman and Jake Benzing share several similarities.
Both players posted breakthrough junior seasons a year ago before emerging as one of the top players in their respective classes this season.
Now Benzing and Arnaman are both all-staters.
Arnaman and Benzing each earned all-state honors for the first time on Tuesday landing on the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association when the organization released its postseason honors.
Benzing earned second-team honors in Class 3A after helping Solon to a 18-6 record and a spot in the district title game.
The 6-foot-3 Benzing averaged a career-high 17.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 52 percent from the floor and 84 percent from the free throw line.
Arnaman continued to emerge as one of the best players in Class 2A this season and earned second-team all-state honors after leading West Branch to a 12-11 record.
The 6-foot-2 point guard led the Bears in scoring at 22.5 points per game, shooting 48 percent from the field including 43 percent from 3-point range.
Arnaman also averaged 5.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
Waukee Northwest senior Pryce Sandfort was named 2023 Mr. Iowa Basketball after averaging 25.2 points and 11 rebounds per game while helping Waukee Northwest to the 4A state title game.
