The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts.

Ayana Lindsey

Former City High standout and current Northwestern sophomore Ayana Lindsey went 2-for-3 with an RBI triple in a 4-1 win over Louisville at the Cardinal Classic on Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.

Lindsey scored a run in the win on Saturday to help Northwestern improved to 9-7 on the season.

Luke Ira

Solon graduate and current South Dakota State senior shortstop Luke Ira went 4-for-5 with a triple and a home run in a 14-9 win over Utah Tech on Sunday in St. George, Utah.

Ira also drew a walk, drove in five runs and scored twice in the Sunday win as South Dakota State split a four-game series with Utah Tech to improve to 3-4 on the season.

On the year Ira is hitting .296 with six extra-base hits including three home runs and leads the Jackrabbits with nine RBI.

Rachael Saunders

West High graduate and current Creighton senior guard Rachael Saunders had eight points to help the Bluejays to a 75-74 win over Seton Hall in the quarterfinals of the Big East conference tournament on Saturday in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Saunders had three rebounds, three assists and a steal in the quarterfinal win and had four points and a team-high seven rebounds in a 63-61 semifinal loss to Villanova on Sunday.

Creighton is 23-7 on the season and Saunders is fourth on the team averaging 7.1 points to go with 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
