Boys Basketball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Drops Postseason Opener at Fourth-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier

Clear Creek Amana had its season come to an end on Monday with a 70-52 loss to Class 3A fourth-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier in a Substate 5 quarterfinal in Cedar Rapids.
The Clippers closed the season at 5-17 while Cedar Rapids Xavier improved to 16-6 and advanced to the Substate 5 semifinals where it will host Western Dubuque (10-12) on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Western Dubuque advanced with a 77-53 win over Center Point-Urbana on Monday.
Andrew Rotzoll made three 3-pointers and led Clear Creek Amana with 13 points while Haiden Hardy had 12 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Brock Hilsman had 10 points and Brody Clubb had six points for the Clippers.
