Girls Basketball Roundup: Tate and Prouty Lead No. 12 West High Past Des Moines Roosevelt in Regional Semifinal

West High raced to a 24-point halftime lead on its way to a 72-57 win over Des Moines Roosevelt in a Class 5A, Region 4 semifinal on Saturday in Iowa City.
No. 12 West High improved to 16-6 with the win and advance to the Region 4 title game where it will face fourth-ranked West Des Moines Dowling (18-4) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in West Des Moines.
Des Moines Roosevelt had a six-game win streak snapped with the loss and closed the season 15-8.
Seniors Anna Prouty and Meena Tate each had 22 points to lead West High which led 45-21 at the half.
Prouty added nine rebounds and three assists and Tate had three rebound and three assists in the win.
Freshman Grace Fincham had 15 points five rebounds and four assists off the bench while Keiko Ono-Fullard added five points.
Lucy Wolf had four points and three assists for the Trojans.
