Girls Basketball Roundup: No. 10 Liberty High Rolls Past Ottumwa in Region 7 Semifinal

Class 5A No. 10 Liberty High bounced back from a loss to Cedar Rapids Prairie in its regular season finale with a 70-26 win over Ottumwa in its postseason opener on Saturday in North Liberty.
The win improved Liberty High to 14-7 on the season and sends the Lightning into the 5A, Region 7 title game where it will travel to seventh-ranked Southeast Polk (14-7) on Tuesday.
Southeast Polk defeated Cedar Rapids Jefferson 79-49 in a regional semifinal on Saturday.
Liberty High had three players in double figures led by junior Bella Tafolla who had 16 points off the bench.
Jasmine Barney had 15 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots for Liberty High and Avery Gaudet had 14 points.
Ava Meyer had eight points and three rebounds and Janessa Mosley had six points and six rebounds.
Ottumwa closed the season 13-8.
