Girls Basketball Roundup: West Branch Postseason Run Ends With Regional Semifinal Loss at Bellevue

The postseason run for West Branch came to an end on Friday with a 53-28 loss to Bellevue in a Class 2A, Region 1 semifinal in Bellevue.
West Branch closed the season 7-17 while Bellevue improved to 16-7 and advanced to the Region 1 title game where it will face top-ranked Dike New-Hartford (22-1) on February 22 at 7 p.m. at West Delaware High School in Manchester.
Bellevue outscored West Branch 13-6 in the second quarter to break open a four-point game and take a 27-16 lead into the half.
Sadie Smith had 11 points and eight rebounds for West Branch and Kylie Pickett had 11 points, five steals and five rebounds for the Bears.
Avery Schultes added four points, three rebounds and three steals for West Branch.
