Girls Basketball Roundup: Palmer Explodes for 38 Points as City High Rolls Past Muscatine in Regional Opener

Augie Palmer scored a career-high 38 points to lift City High to a 75-37 win over Muscatine in the postseason opener for both teams on Wednesday in Iowa City.
Tessa Driscoll added 19 points for City High as the Little Hawks improved to 6-15 on the season and advanced to the Class 5A, Region 5 semifinals.
City High will travel to fifth-ranked Davenport North (19-2) for a regional semifinal on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Muscatine closed the season 4-18.
Driscoll had four 3-pointers in the first half and Palmer had three first-half triples as City High opened up a 39-17 halftime advantage.
City High finished with nine 3-pointers in the game.
Norah Jespersen added eight points and Mia Driscoll and Emmy McComas each had four points for City High.
Annie Zillig had a team-high 15 points to lead Muscatine.
