Regina had its season come to an end on Monday with a 60-55 to Hillcrest Academy in a Class 1A, Substate 6 opener in Kalona.

Hillcrest Academy improved to 12-10 on the season and will travel to Lynnville-Sully (20-2) in a substate quarterfinal on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Regina had its season end at 9-12.

Grant Bender had a game-high 34 points and nine rebounds to lead Hillcrest Academy and Seth Ours had 10 points and five rebounds for the Ravens.

Luke Schrock added eight points for Hillcrest Academy.
