Class 5A No. 12 West High rallied from a 16-point halftime deficit for a 59-56 win over Cedar Rapids Kennedy in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division contest on Tuesday in Iowa City.

West High used a 26-point fourth quarter to complete the second-half comeback after trailing 33-17 at the half.

The Trojans improved to 14-6 on the season while Cedar Rapids Kennedy dropped to 11-8 with just its second loss in its last seven games.

Meena Tate had 20 points and three assists to lead West High while Anna Prouty had 11 points and eight rebounds for the Trojans.

Freshman Grace Fincham had 10 points, three assists and two steals and Carolyn Pierce had nine points and four rebounds.

Melae’ Lacy had six points and six rebounds for West High.

Kaliyah Sain had 22 points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists to lead Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

Ella Moser had 19 points and three steals for the Cougars and Addy Alber added six points.
