West Branch Quarterback Hughes Commits to Central College

Last fall Tye Hughes helped orchestrate one of the most successful seasons in recent West Branch history.
On Saturday the senior quarterback announced his future plans.
Hughes announced his commitment to Central College with a post on social media.
“Committed to play football at Central,” Hughes wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way.”
In his only season at West Branch Hughes led the Bears to an 11-1 record and its first semifinal berth since 2011.
Hughes completed 63 percent of his passes while throwing for 1,530 yards and 13 touchdowns with just three interceptions while earning second-team Class 1A all-state honors.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Hughes also rushed for 491 yards and 11 touchdowns ranking second on the team in both rushing yards and rushing scores.
Hughes caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown.
