Class 5A No. 15 Liberty High secured a big road win over a ranked opponent on Tuesday defeating No. 10 Linn-Mar 63-57 in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional contest in Marion.

Liberty High improved to 8-5 on the season with the win while Linn-Mar dropped to 9-5.

Avery Gaudet had 15 points and four assists to lead Liberty High as the Lightning shot 56 percent from the floor in the win.

Jasmine Barney had 14 points and five rebounds for the Lightning and Madeline Casey added 13 points going 3-of-5 from 3-point range.

Kennedy Daugherty had eight points, six rebounds and five assists and Janessa Mosley added seven points.

Ava Meyer had three points and five rebounds for the Lightning.
