West High had four individuals finish in the top three on its way to a sixth-place team finish at the 15-team Bettendorf Midwest Shootout on Saturday at Bettendorf High School.

Freshman Alexander Pierce won an individual title at 106 pounds and Justin Avila was runner-up at 160 pounds as West High rolled up 107 points.

Class 3A third-ranked Bettendorf won the team title with 229 points followed by sixth-ranked Johnston was 188.5 points and No. 10 Dubuque Hempstead with 157.5 points.

Second-ranked Pierce (22-2) won an 11-4 decision over fifth-ranked Mitchell Pins of Dubuque Hempstead to win the 106-pound title.

Third-ranked Justin Avila (26-5) fell to fifth-ranked Gabe Carver of Urbandale 8-1 in the 160-pound championship.

Kyler Scranton finished third at 152 pounds and Braden Doyle was third at 132 pounds for the Trojans.

Sterling Warren was sixth at 138, Ashton Honore was eighth at 220, Campbell Janis was ninth at 120 and Zion Shaw was 10^th at 182 pounds.
