Wrestling Roundup: City High Crowns Three Champs in Fourth-place Finish at J-Hawk Invite

City High crowned three champs and had another runner-up on its way to a fourth-place team finish at the J-Hawk Invitational at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School on Saturday.
Cale Seaton, Gabe Arnold and Ben Kueter all won individual titles for the Little Hawks as City High racked up 181.5 team points.
Class 5A eighth-ranked Waukee Northwest won the team title with 214 points while 1A third-ranked Alburnett was runner-up with 212.5 points and 3A fourth-ranked Fort Dodge was third with 212 points.
Second-ranked Seaton (27-1) went 3-0 on his way to the 126-pound title on Saturday posting a first-period pin of No. 12 Logan Pennock of Fort Madison in the semifinals before earning a 23-10 major decision over sixth-ranked West Des Moines Valley senior Nate Bierma in the finals.
Top-ranked Arnold and Kueter each went 3-0 and failed to have a match go the distance while claiming titles as 182 and 220 pounds.
Arnold (26-0) won three consecutive matches by tech fall, including a 24-9 win over Andy Franke of Muscatine in the 182-pound title match.
Kueter (23-0) recorded three consecutive first-period falls on his way to the 220-pound title, pinning Drew Campbell of Cedar Falls in 65 seconds in the championship match.
Fourth-ranked Kael Kurtz (24-4) finished runner-up at 132 pounds dropping a 3-1 decision to second-ranked Carter Freeman of Waukee Northwest in the championship match.
Kendall Kurtz finished fourth at 106 pounds for City High while Raphael Etuma was sixth at 195 and Zach Fern was sixth at 145 pounds.
Trey Dervrich placed seventh at 285 pounds, Nick Marker was seventh at 160 and Edgar Mhoon-Lopez was eighth at 120.
