It was an eventful holiday break for Regina senior Danny Gavin.

An all-state outfielder Gavin announced his commit to Gustavus Adolphus College with a post on social media on Monday.

“Excited to become a Gustie,” Gavin wrote on Twitter in his commitment post.

Already a three-year starter Gavin has led Regina in both hits and runs each of the past two seasons.

A career .356 hitter Gavin is coming off the best season of his career last summer when he hit .346 with 12 extra-base hits.

Gavin had 10 doubles and two home runs last season while driving in 15 runs and scoring 29 runs.

The left-handed hitting Gavin drew a team-high 20 walks last season and posted a .485 on-base percentage.
