Solon will enter 2023 as a top-five team in Class 3A.

The Spartans climbed two spots to fourth in the most recent Class 3A girls basketball rankings released on Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Solon (7-1) trails Estherville Lincoln Central, Benton Community and Unity Christian in the 3A rankings

West High and Liberty High both remained in the Class 5A rankings.

West High (6-2) dropped five spots to No. 11 in 5A while Liberty High (6-3) climbed one spot to No. 12 in 5A.

Clear Creek Amana (6-2) dropped to eighth in Class 4A and Regina (10-1) remained seventh in Class 2A.

Other top-ranked teams this were include Waterloo West in 5A, Cedar Rapids Xavier in 4A, Dike-New Hartford in 2A and Algona Garrigan in 1A.
