Liberty High Senior Meyer Commits to Bemidiji State

One of the leaders responsible for the most successful season in Liberty High history has announced his future football plans.
Liberty High senior wide receiver Lucas Meyer announced his commitment to Bemidji State on Tuesday with a post on social media.
“First, I would like to thank everyone who took the time in recruiting me and giving me the opportunity to play at the next level,” Meyer wrote on Twitter. “Next, I would like to thank my family, friends and coaches for being so supportive of my mission and dreams throughout this entire process. After a long talk with my family I’m excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Bemidji State University.”
The 6-foot-4, 176-pound Meyer emerged as a major threat in the Liberty High passing game in his final prep season this fall.
Meyer caught 28 passes for 462 yards and five touchdowns ranking third on the team in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns.
The strong season from Meyer helped Liberty High average better than 378 total yards and 36.9 points per game.
Liberty High posted the best season in program history this fall going 9-2 and advancing to the quarterfinals of the Class 4A playoffs.
