Class 3A seventh-ranked City High dropped a Mississippi Valley Conference dual to Western Dubuque on Thursday falling 39-34 in Iowa City.

City High won seven matches on Thursday with Kendall Kurtz and Cale Seaton earning wins via forfeit.

Top-ranked Gabe Arnold and Ben Kueter each posted first-period pins for the Little Hawks.

Arnold pinned Logan Massey in 1:40 at 195 pounds and Kueter pinned Jacob Klosterman in 1:41 at 285 pounds.

Kael Kurtz won a 19-7 major dec over CJ Kammiller at 132 pounds and Jake Mitchell earned a 6-3 decision over Joe Hirsch at 138 pounds.

Chris Davis earned a 6-1 decision over Brian Kammiller at 113 pounds.
