Girls Basketball Roundup: Strong Start Lifts 4A No. 7 Clear Creek Amana Past City High

A strong start helped Clear Creek Amana to a fourth consecutive win on Friday as the Clippers jumped to an early lead on its way to a 56-44 win over City High in a non-conference contest in Iowa City.
Bliss Beck had 19 points and Ava Locklear added 13 as Class 4A seventh-ranked Clear Creek Amana improved to 4-1 on the season with its fourth consecutive win.
City High got a game-high 28 points from sophomore Augie Palmer but it wasn’t enough as the Little Hawks dropped to 1-2 on the season with their second consecutive loss.
Clear Creek Amana led 14-5 after one quarter and built a 28-14 halftime advantage that proved to be too much to overcome.
Olivia Miller added eight points for Clear Creek Amana while freshman Averie Lower had six and Sam Schrage five for the Clippers.
Tessa Driscoll had five points and Mia Driscoll added four for City High.
