Girls Basketball Roundup: Solon Upsets Third-Ranked Center Point-Urbana

Solon climbed in the Class 3A rankings for the second consecutive week on Thursday following a road win at Vinton-Shellsburg on Tuesday.
After Friday the Spartans could be looking at another jump in the rankings next week.
Class 3A seventh-ranked Solon won a second straight game against a team ranked ahead of it in the 3A rankings upsetting third-ranked Center Point-Urbana 52-40 on Friday in Solon.
Callie Levin had 17 points to lead four Spartans with at least eight points as Solon improved to 5-0 on the season.
Center Point-Urbana dropped to 4-2 with its second consecutive loss to a top-10 opponent after falling to 4A sixth-ranked Decorah.
Solon got nine points from sophomores Mia Stahle and Kobi Leitz and Hailey Miller added eight as Solon notched its third win over a ranked opponent this season.
Mya Hillers had 17 points and Addy Tupa had eight for the Stormin’ Pointers.
