Solon and Clear Creek Amana each moved up in the most recent girls basketball rankings released Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Clear Creek Amana (3-1) moved up one spot to seventh in the Class 4A rankings while Solon (4-0) climbed two spots to seventh in the Class 3A rankings.

It was the second consecutive week the Spartans have risen in the 3A rankings.

Solon was 12th in the preseason rankings and moved up to ninth last week before jumping to seventh on Thursday.

West High (3-0), Liberty High (3-2) and Regina (4-1) all held their spots in the most recent rankings.

Regina remained eighth in the Class 2A rankings while West High is seventh and Liberty High No. 13 in Class 5A. West High plays at Liberty High on Friday.

Top-ranked teams this week are Waterloo West (5A), Cedar Rapids Xavier (4A), Estherville-Lincoln Central (3A), Dike-New Hartford (2A) and Algona Garrigan (1A).
