Just a few days after the end to a productive prep football career in which Blake Timmons accounted for nearly 6,000 total yards and 73 touchdowns the Solon senior announced his intentions to play another sport at the next level.

“All praise to God for blessing me with the talent and work ethic to achieve a lifelong dream of playing college sports,” Timmons wrote on Twitter. “I’d also like to thank my family, coaches and teammates for your support and encouragement. I am excited to announce I have accepted an offer to continue my academic and athletic career at North Dakota State University.”
Already a three-year starter as a middle infielder for the Spartans Timmons is a career .347 hitter and is coming off a junior season in which he batted .306 with 13 extra-base hits and 50 runs scored.

As a junior, Timmons hit .431 with 17 extra-base hits and 27 RBI while scoring 59 runs.
