Brick Kabela finished fourth at the WAMAC Conference meet for the second consecutive season on Thursday helping ninth-ranked Solon to a third-place team finish at the conference meet in Independence.

Kabela finished in a time of 16:57.8 to help Solon place third as a team with 92 points.

Class 3A third-ranked Marion won the team title with 61 points followed by No. 10 Mount Vernon-Lisbon with 71.

No. 19 South Tama finished fourth with 98 points and No. 13 Clear Creek Amana was fifth with 111 points.

Michael Yeomans was 11^th for Solon in a time of 17:13.3 and Grant Bumsted finished 18^th in 17:38 as the Spartans put three runners in the top 20.

Marion senior Jedidiah Osgood won the individual title in a time of 15:52.5 while Tommy Tyynismaa of South Tama was second in 16:27.6.

Grady Olberding of Mount Vernon-Lisbon and Kabela were the other two runners to crack the 17-minute mark on Thursday.

Lawsin Sinwell finished 22^nd for Solon in 17.48.

Brock Hilsman led Clear Creek Amana with an eighth-place finish in a time of 17:06.9 while teammate Peyton Stadler was 17^th in 17:35.4.

Isaac Sorensen placed 24^th for Clear Creek Amana in 17:49.4.
