West Branch, Liberty High and and Solon all held their spots in the most recent Associated Press football Poll released on Monday.

Liberty High (6-1) remained fourth in the Class 4A poll trailing top-ranked Council Bluffs Lewis Central, Cedar Rapids Xavier and Waverly-Shell Rock.

In Class 3A Solon (5-2) held its spot at seventh.

The Spartans have won four consecutive games since a 1-2 start to the season and are outside of a 3A top-five that is headlined by Harlan (6-1) and Humboldt (7-0) which are tied for the top spot this week.

West Branch (7-0) remained atop the 1A poll for the third consecutive week following a 23-0 shutout of Regina last Friday.

The Bears close the regular season at Wilton (4-3) on Friday.

City High is among seven teams receiving votes in the Class 5A poll.

Other top-ranked teams this week include Pleasant Valley (5A), Williamsburg (2A), West Hancock (A) and Remsen St. Mary’s (8-player).
