For the second consecutive week West Branch is number one in Class 1A in the Associated Press Poll.

West Branch (6-0) retained the top spot in Class 1A in the most recent Associated Press Poll released on Monday following a 49-13 win over currently eighth-ranked Durant last Friday.

Winners of two consecutive games via shutout, Solon (4-2) moved up two spots to seventh in the Class 3A poll while Liberty High (5-1) remained fourth in the Class 4A rankings.

City High is the top team receiving votes in the Class 5A poll.

Other top-ranked teams this week include Pleasant Valley (5A), Council Bluffs Lewis Central (4A), Humboldt (3A), Williamsburg (2A), West Hancock (A) and Remsen St. Mary’s (8-player).
