Mackenzie Murphy
Former City High standout and current Mount Mercy senior Mackenzie Murphy had 32 kills in a pair of five-set wins by the Mustangs over the weekend.
Murphy had 15 kills in a win over Willian Penn on Friday and hammered a team-high 17 kills in a win over Grand View on Saturday.
On the season the 5-foot-11 Murphy has 190 kills and leads the Mustangs with 3.22 kills per set.
Murphy ranks third on the team with 228 digs, fourth with 22 blocks and has a team-high 19 ace serves while helping Mount Mercy to a 15-4 record.
Cael Fiderlein
West Branch graduate and current Central College sophomore linebacker Cael Fiderlein had four solo tackles and broke up a pass in a 58-0 win over Nebraska Wesley on Saturday.
On the season Fiderlein has made 14 tackles in four games while helping the Dutch to a 3-1 start to the season.
Oliver Martin
Former West High all-stater receiver and current Nebraska senior Oliver Martin caught a 35-yard touchdown on Saturday to help the Cornhuskers to a 35-21 win over Indiana.
Martin finished with a season-high three receptions for 65 yards in the win and has caught six passes for 119 yards on the season.
